The AX17 features Vermeer’s exclusive SmartFeed and SmartCrush systems, which intelligently manage material feeding to maximize efficiency and reduce labor. Powered by a 130-hp Cummins T4F diesel engine, the AX17’s 26-inch drum and two knives can handle large logs and tree limbs with over 6,500 pounds of pull-in power. It’s equipped with a patented winch boom for loading large materials and a patented bottom feed stop bar for enhanced operator safety. The machine’s EcoIdle™ engine control system helps minimize fuel consumption when not actively chipping.
